“For the world, it may be a structure of brick & mortar
But for us, it is the soul that nurtures like a mother
It is our temple of learning -Devalaya
We bow to thee – Kodagu Vidyalaya
For me, Kodagu Vidyalaya is not just a school but my very soul that has inspired me to achieve excellence in my life. Today, If I am a meticulous teacher and an able administrator, then all the credit goes to my alma mater. Since the time I forayed into teaching arena, I have been emulating my legendary teachers. There has never been a single day wherein I have not reminisced about Kodagu Vidyalaya. Right at the crack of the dawn, I remember Ms. Udayakumari, the principled Principal who strived to take the school to meteoric heights & in fact, throughout the day I try to follow her footsteps. “Teachers hold the hands, touch the hearts and imprint their influence eternally” Words fall short to describe the diligent teachers, Ms. Padma, Ms. Rani, Ms. Agnes, Mr. Ramaprasad, Ms.Saraswati, Ms.Veena, Mr. Sripati, Mr. Babu, adorable Mr. Devi ‘Uncle’ and of course every student’s much looked forward time with Mr. Shankar Swamy who not only coached us cricket & hockey but also guided with life’s lessons on numerous occasions. Scores of times, I slip down the memory lane and recall the wonderful life at Kodagu Vidyalaya. In my present school, I have implemented the same system of House, Inter House Competitions, Hostel Routine, Annual Cultural & Sports Days etc. Whenever, I receive complements for a good job done at school, I quietly thank my teachers, mentors and the magnificent Kodagu Vidyalaya.”
